All adults are invited to meet at 2:00 p.m. in room #302 on the third floor for a wonderful time of fellowship and old-fashioned games. Meeting each Wednesday, we play checkers, dominoes, Bingo, Chicken Foot, and more! This is an open group and anyone is welcome to join us whenever you are free.
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13
This special verse speaks so well of how I see so many of our church family putting this very verse to work in their lives. Whenever we have our third Wednesday lunches, so many of you are bringing delicious food to share, decorating tables, working in the kitchen before and after our meal. You are also helping obtain program speakers and meeting to plan trips, etc. I see this also taking place on Wednesday nights, Sundays, Operation In As Much, missions upon missions, choir practice, Manna Market, and all those members who keep our building and grounds maintained. I also feel so lucky we have our wonderful SonShine Ministry with such a hard working staff. I can’t leave out our kind and patient office staff who work for us daily with smiles on their faces in spite of 102 interruptions a day. And yes, we all see how much Sammy works for us in and out of the pulpit. I thank God for the enthusiasm of spirit and energy, which we are blessed with each day. May it continue to grow God’s kingdom here in Mebane.

FLASH NEWS of UPCOMING EVENTS: Margaret Robertson will be putting up the flyers with times, etc. for you to sign up to go to the following:
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT: In order to get tickets for the plays and musicals we would like to attend it is necessary to make reservations way in advance. We have been lucky enough to obtain 22 tickets at $38.00 each for the buffet and show, “Country Roads”, at the Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre in Wytheville, VA on Thursday, September 20. Once 22 have signed up, you may list your name and be on the list to go if there is a cancellation by someone. Payment for the tickets must be made by September 12. They should be written to FBC Young at Heart and paid to Nita Parnell or mailed to her at 4121 Collonade Ct., Haw River, NC 27258
SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT: It may seem early to you, but we have our Holiday entertainment scheduled. We will be going on Thursday, November 29, to the Rudy Theater in Selma, NC for the Christmas Show and eating lunch before the show at Meadow Grill Restaurant in Meadow, NC, home place of our own Hazel Lee. This restaurant is absolutely famous for their food and especially their desserts. I think Gladys Carmichael holds the record for eating the most desserts there. At least that’s what we’ve heard. Just look how lovely and slim Gladys is so I’m sure the calories don’t count. The cost of the show is $27.50. Again we have 21 tickets reserved. Sign up asap. If we have more than 21 who want to go to this show, we can get more tickets if we know early enough.
